Parrot RK8200 Bluetooth car stereo

A dashboard invasion from our feathered friends

NEWS: 12 September 2007 12:16 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

Parrot is continuing its world-domination-via-Bluetooth strategy with the launch of the RK8200, a FM/AM RDS car stereo.

Featuring an array of connections to play digital and analogue music, this is also a Bluetooth handsfree phone kit.

With "sophisticated" telephony functions, it has a dual microphone that offers echo cancellation as well as noise reduction technology.

Still on the phone side of things, it also offers automatic phonebook synchronisation, complete call records, and total storage capacity of 8000 contacts (that it can read out to you).

The RK8200 has an SD card reader, a USB port for flash drives and MP3 players, an line-in socket for analogue sources, a specific iPod connector and A2DP stereo Bluetooth for streaming music from your mobile phone.

The Parrot RK8200 sports an internal memory that can also store over 300 MP3 tracks while cleverly hidden behind the removable front panel, there is a secret, sorry, storage compartment to keep a phone, MP3 player or USB flash drive.

The Parrot RK8200 will be available in shops by the end of the year for around £149.99 - which seems a reasonable price point considering the functionality.
