German iPhone deal announced - goes to T-Mobile

399 euros and on sale on November 9th

NEWS: 19 September 2007 12:00 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile division will sell Apple's iPhone in Germany, where the device will go on sale in November 9th, the same launch date as in the UK.

The news, confirmed by Apple's Steve Jobs and company officials at a press conference, is expected - T-Mobile has long been rumoured to be the iPhone carrier for Germany.

The iPhone will cost 399 euros in Germany - almost exactly the same price as here in the UK, give or take a tenner but will require sign-up to a 2-year contract.

The iPhone in the UK was announced by Steve Jobs yesterday and will go on sale for £269 exclusive to O2.

Other European announcements are expected this week for Orange to get the deal in France and O2's parent company Telefonica SA to offer the phone in Spain.
