Voice activated Dalek to exterminate Christmas

Just don't expect it to go up stairs

NEWS: 26 September 2007 16:31 GMT by Stuart Miles

Dr. Who fans will be able to control their very own Dalek this Christmas with the launch of a voice activated one from Character.

Available at online gadget store, IWantOneOfThose.com or iwoot.com for short, the Dalek will be able to respond your commands to guard a location or seek out and destroy the Doctor.

Making sure the new toy, which costs £99.99 will be able to understand you, Character say that the Dalek has been programmed with patented voice technology fresh in from the states that will automatically detect your voice commands whether you're 8 or 80.

Of course if you want to avoid getting the same response you normally get from a cinema call system "Did you say screen times in Winchester?" you can switch off the voice activation and stick with a standard remote control instead.

The voice activated Dalek will be available in time for Christmas.
