Unhappy with your look in pictures? Technology to the rescue

NEWS: 10 October 2007 0:00 GMT by Ian Hughes

The perfect picture. A simple enough notion, but one that often eludes us, especially when we're in the picture ourselves. Seldom do most people look at a shot of themselves and think "wow, I look great". If you do, I'm happy for you, I really am.

I, on the other hand, think that there are only around four decent pictures of me in existence (all of them taken when I was younger and, I dare say, a few pounds lighter).

That said, there's still something about this site that I find a little disturbing. They claim to offer "the same touch-up services celebrities use at a fraction of the cost". Once you get over the shock of discovering that apparently celebrity pictures are somehow touched up (a frankly scandalous claim in my book…) you might start to wonder just how vain you have to be to employ "professional editors" to retouch pictures of yourself to make you look unnaturally better.

And judging by the example picture of the dog on the home page, that seems to be what they offer. The puppy's cute though. Boom, boom…
