Kodak add Picture Mail to Wi-Fi digital photo frames

Promises to make sharing images even easier

NEWS: 10 October 2007 15:09 GMT by Stuart Miles

Kodak has announced that it is adding a new software feature to its wireless digital photo frames called "Picture Mail".

Announced at an event in Barcelona, the new software, which follows offerings already available from companies like i-mate on its digital photo frames, allows users to push images to frames around the world via the company's online EasyShare gallery as long as they are connected to the Internet.

Available to new and old Wi-Fi enabled frames within the next month via a firmware update, the frame will have an icon at the bottom of the display alerting users to new images available to see.

Images can be accepted or declined, as well as being saved for repeat viewing to the frame owners gallery online.

Luckily users will only be able to accept images from friends on their invited guest lists via the Kodak EasyShare Gallery rather than getting too many dodgy pictures from drunken friends.
