"Multiple sources" confirm 26th October as date for Leopard launch

OS X 10.5 is on its way...

NEWS: 16 October 2007 10:11 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

Apple-watchers are reporting that "multiple sources" have confirmed the 26th October as the launch date for the much-awaited OS X 10.5, codenamed "Leopard".

ThinkSecret have long predicted the date to be that Friday, and this is now being corroborated by other sources.

MacNN quotes retail sources who say that the launch will happen at 6pm, and Apple stores will close during the day and open late in the same way they did for the iPhone.

Leopard is long-awaited by Apple users, not just because it has been delayed, but because it's been a long time since the last update to the Apple OS - 30 months in fact.
