Lenovo intros five new ThinkVision monitors

Including industry's first EPEAT Gold rated model

NEWS: 24 October 2007 9:47 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

Lenovo has introduced the industry's first EPEAT Gold rated monitor – the ThinkVision L193p – as part of a new portfolio of PC monitors designed for business users.

The portfolio of five new monitors also includes the ThinkVision L190x monitor featuring the slimmest bezel in the industry at just 6.6mm.

"With the first PC monitor rated EPEAT Gold, Lenovo has achieved a milestone in the greening of the electronics industry", said Jeff Omelchuck, executive director, Green Electronics Council.

"The EPEAT system helps purchasers evaluate, compare and select PC products based on their environmental attributes."

"By developing a monitor that achieves EPEAT's Gold ranking Lenovo is demonstrating its commitment to providing purchasers with high quality, environmentally responsible products."

When combined with the ThinkCentre A61e desktop, Lenovo claims the solution is 57% more efficient than previous Lenovo desktops paired with a 19-inch CRT monitor.

The 19-inch monitor offers a 160/160 degree viewing angle, a claimed high contrast ratio, 5ms response time and an ergonomic stand.

The ThinkVision L190x is the monitor with the industry's slimmest bezel measuring in at 6.6mm.

Designed for work environments were monitors are placed side by side, the theory is that a thinner bezel is less of a distraction when viewing multiple screens.

Contrast ratio for this model comes in at 1500:1 and it also offers four USB ports as well as the automatic rotation function that lets users switch from portrait to landscape mode.

The other models introduced are the ThinkVision L171 and L151 monitors for general office purposes and the ThinkVision L194 a 19-inch widescreen monitor.
