Hush Media Centre range launches

"A silent revolution in entertainment"

NEWS: 14 November 2007 8:00 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

Three new HD Media Centres have been launched by German manufacturer Hush Technologies.

The Hush E1200, E5200 and E5200d Media Centres allow you to store all of your music, movies and photos and play them back in full HD audio and video quality, all from the comfort of your own sofa with a simple-to-use remote control unit and Microsoft software.

Each system includes a Digital TV receiver with twin tuners and interactive 14-day electronic programme guide, a DVD recorder and a Personal Video recorder for recording TV digital to hard disk and a Microsoft Media Centre Remote Control Unit.

The Hush Media Centres claim to have more processing power than any other dedicated home entertainment system. The "standard" system has a huge 1TB hard drive – capable of storing up to 18,000 albums.

And - big news for such a form factor - the Media Centres are also completely silent, thanks to the fanless cooling system.

Each system is operated with one simple Microsoft Media Centre Remote Control Unit and runs on Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium software. You can broadcast to any room in the house with simultaneous individual selection of sound or vision, using Ethernet connections.

There is a choice of 250GB, 500GB, 1TB or 2TB hard disk storage and each system can support a variety of connections including HDMI, VGA, DVI, USB, LAN, S/PDIF as well as an Optional Card Reader for Compact Flash/Micro Drive, Memory Stick and SD Card/Multimedia Card.

The Media Centre range is priced at between £1200 and £2800, depending on model.
