Vodafone loses German iPhone court case

Unlocked iPhones sales to stop

Vodafone has been thwarted in its attempt to stop rival T-Mobile enjoying exclusive rights to Apple iPhone in Germany.

A German court overturned an injunction which forced T-Mobile to sell unlocked iPhones.

Vodafone had taken the matter to court in order to object the exclusivity agreement on behalf of customers.

"We are pleased with the outcome", said T-Mobile spokesman Rene Bresken.

T-Mobile had been selling the unlocked iPhones for 999 euros ($1500/£720) but has now ceased sales, meaning the only place you can buy an officially unlocked iPhone is France.
