Kodak recalls novelty torch

Not so novel now

NEWS: 14 December 2007 16:20 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

Kodak is issuing a product recall notice for a novelty torch that was offered as a promotional item with multi packs of Kodak Max AA batteries.

The product recall applies to items sold in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Cyprus, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Greece, South Africa and Switzerland.

The issue relates to a fault in the manufacture of the novelty torch.

Kodak is taking this precautionary step due to a small number of cases where the torch has become unusually overheated causing a small part of the plastic housing
at the bottom to melt.

All customers who purchased the item are asked to contact Kodak and will be provided with a "replacement" 12 pack of batteries, although no new torch.
