CES 2008: Hi-Gain Wireless-G Dish Network Adapter launched

Extend your wireless network by as much as 300%

NEWS: 9 January 2008 12:07 GMT by Katie Scott

AM Micro has announced the Hi-Gain Wireless-G Dish Network Adapter for Macs.

The HWU8DDA device has been designed by Hawking Technology, and will connect a desktop computer or laptop to any Wireless-B, Wireless-G, or Wireless-N network by USB.

Using a high speed USB 2.0 connection, HWU8DDA establishes the strongest signal available within an area thanks using Hi-Gain Antenna technology.

With an 8dBi Hi-Gain directional dish antenna, the HWU8DDA allows wireless connection distances to be extended by up to 300%.

Built in LED signal indicators indicate the strength of the signal.

The HWU8DDA is compatible with both Mac laptop and desktop machine (installed with Mac OS X 10.3 - 10.4 (Intel or Power PC)).

The package contains one USB cable, a CD that includes the software and a manual, a Hi-Gain Wireless-G USB Network Adapter, and a quick installation guide.

It is available now for £69.95 from AM Micro.
