Home Media Magazine has revealed that last week in the American next-gen DVD sales charts Blu-ray nabbed 85% of high definition disc sales against HD DVD's 15% market share.

Depending on which stats you believe, Blu-ray discs have outsold HD DVD by a 2-1 margin over the last year, but these latest figures are significant, not just for the large difference, but because they are the first week's figures since the industry - and consumers - have had a chance to digest Warner Bros' announcement that they are going exclusively Blu.

And, in what looks really bad for HD DVD's software sales, Home Media Magazine reports that of the top 10 high-def discs - every single one was a Blu-ray title.
