Sony Ericsson PlayNow "arena" gets revamped And five million more tracks...

Sony Ericsson has announced its now named "PlayNow arena", the over-the-air download service, is getting a bit of a revamp and some serious new blood with the addition of millions of new tracks, and some new features.

The phone company has announced deals with 10 major record labels including Sony BMG, Warner Music Group and EMI, adding over five million new tracks to the catalogue.

The comapny has also launched PlayNow Uncut, (formerly M-Buzz) a promo space for new, unsigned and developing artists.

TrackID, Sony Ericsson's music identifying application, is also getting integrated into the service.

The PlayNow arena will launch in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland in May 2008 with more European markets to come at the end of Q2 2008 and further expansion in Europe, Americas and Asia during Q3 and Q4.
