"AlertMe" mobile phone home security solution launches

System of fobs, sensors and hubs works via phone and online

NEWS: 28 January 2008 16:25 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

AlertMe, an intelligent home security and monitoring system that works via mobile phones and the Internet, has launched.

AlertMe can be self-installed without the need for wires, drilling or waiting for workmen to turn up.

It works through sensors and key fobs that send "alerts" via text or email and can also be set up to notify nominated friends and family, updating them on potential incidents.

This means people can more easily manage false alarms, and AlertMe claims to "go further" than traditional burglar alarms with functions like individual key fobs can be given to family members so parents can be alerted when children have arrived home safely, for example.

AlertMe is available at www.alertMe.com and is priced at £399 for a kit.
