HTC unveils P3470 smartphone TomTom navigation included as standard

The P3470 GSM mobile phone is one of a whole host of launches unveiled by HTC over at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

This latest addition to the company's Windows Mobile 6 Professional line-up offers satnav software and a strong battery life, but is also claimed to set a new standard "in affordable smartphone, GPS-based devices".

It is 108mm tall (dimensions: 108 x 58.3 x 15.7mm), weighs 122g and offers a touch interface via its 2.8-inch screen.

TomTom Navigator 6 is included for AGPS-enabled satnav, and the HTC P3470 also comes with a 1GB microSD card for mapping and other data storage (as well as 256MB flash and 128MB RAM of internal memory).

Additional features include a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and a battery that is claimed to deliver up to 350 minutes of talk time and up to 240 hours of standby time.

The HTC P3470 will be available to customers across Europe later this month.

The first pan-European operator partner to offer it will be Orange which will launch the P3470 in the UK, France, Spain and the Netherlands for 449 euros.
