NEWS: 12 February 2008 12:19 GMT by Katie Scott

Sainbury's shoppers will soon be able to get hold of two new laptops when they head off to buy their fruit and veg.

The 14- and 17-inch dual-core notebooks from Medion will be in store from later this month.

Medion's MD96624 and MD96625 are priced at £399.99 and £499.99 including VAT.

They both run Windows Vista Home Premium.

The MD96625 has an Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66GHz dual-core processor, Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS graphics and 2GB RAM as well as a 17-inch widescreen display.

It also boasts high definition audio including a subwoofer and an HDMI port.

In addition, Intel PRO wireless connectivity and an integrated 1.3MP webcam are included as standard.

The second launch is the cheaper Medion MD96624, which features a dual-core AMD Turion 1.6GHz processor and Nvidia GeForce Go 6100 graphics.

With a 160GB hard drive, 2GB RAM and a 14.1-inch WXGA widescreen display, the MD96624 offers "versatile multimedia capabilities", adds Medion.

It measures 330 x 240 x 36mm and weighs 2.4kg

Both will be available at larger Sainsbury's stores as well as online through Medion.

Both Medion notebooks come with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium edition, Nero Burning ROM 7 Essentials including Nero Recode 2 Essentials and a BullGuard Internet Security Suite 90-day trial.

Both machines come with a 12-month warranty.
