D-Link offers £55 wireless N router

"N" your home network for less

NEWS: 27 February 2008 13:45 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

D-Link has reduced the cost of its entry-level wireless N home router, with the DIR-615 Wireless N Home Router, an entry-level version of the award-winning DIR-635 and DIR-655 models.

The main difference is that the DIR-615 runs on reduced memory, but using draft 802.11n technology with multiple "intelligent" antennas, the DIR-615 maximises the speed and range of wireless signals to significantly outperform "G" devices.

The DIR-615 offers a maximum wireless signal rate of 300Mbps, which enables bandwidth-hungry applications such as high-definition video streaming to run seamlessly.

Compatible with existing 802.11g and 802.11b wireless devices, the DIR-615 offers D-Link’s Click'n'Connect software for easy set up and has support for WEP, WPA and WPA2 encryption standards.

With an 11-year warranty, the DIR-615 is available now for a recommended retail price of £54.99.
