CeBIT 2008: Razer launches Salmosa gaming mouse

New entry-level offering

NEWS: 4 March 2008 8:35 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

Razer has chosen CeBIT as the venue to unveil the latest addition to its PC gaming peripherals range - the Razer Salmosa gaming mouse.

An entry-level effort - the first for the company - the Salmosa also launches with the claim of being one of the lightest mice of its class.

Light does not mean lightweight though, as it offers a 1800dpi 3G infrared sensor boasting speeds of up to 2.5 times faster than "regular" gaming mice and hardware toggles for DPI switching and 125/500/100Hz polling rate adjustments with no need for drivers.

Other features include three independently programmable Hyperesponse buttons, scroll wheel with 24 individual click positions, zero-acoustic "ultraslick" Teflon feet, large non-slip buttons and seven foot of lightweight, non-tangle cord.

Available worldwide during Q3 2008, UK pricing is to be confirmed, but we're hearing a US price tag of around $40.
