A property paper has revealed that a "giant" Apple retail store is due to open in Covent Garden, occupying the space formerly used by the music venue the Rock Garden.

The "Estates Gazette" report claims that the Apple deal will see a three-storey retail store spread across 25,000 square feet.

A third London store is necessary for Apple, the report claims, as the comapny needs more space to "cope with growing demand" for its products.

Approval for the plan has been given by Apple HQ and initial terms have already been signed. A source said: "This will be one of the biggest lettings Covent Garden has ever achieved and at a very high rent".
