The Graham Bell Award for Best Communication Solution has been awarded to Californian company Jajah for its long-distance and international calling products.

Its service can be accessed from any phone or computer in 122 countries at the moment - and allows consumers to keep their existing carrier without entering new contracts.

And now it has received a big pat on the back from the Service Provider Forum of the Telecom Council, which includes industry big wigs including BT, Vodafone, AT&T and Swisscom.

The companies chose Jajah out of a list of hundreds of telecommunication services from around the world.

Liz Kerton, president of The Telecom Council explained the choice: "It is the Council's intent to highlight companies that have tremendous potential and an approach that appeals to communication service providers from around the world".

"Jajah stands out in the crowd with its innovative voice solutions for consumers and a proven network that leading tech companies and telco partners are leveraging for their own business advantage."
