Sharp has launched three new AQUOS HD-ready LCD TVs.
With sizes of 37, 32 and 26 inches, the company claims the D44E series "affords anyone the 16:9 format home cinema experience" and offers a new look for Sharp with the option of a new silver-grey colour design.
The models in the new AQUOS D44E series, the LC-26D44E, LC-32D44E and LC-37D44E, offer a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.
The D44E series' panel has a luminance of 470-500 candelas per square metre that Sharp claims ensures brilliant colour display and boasts optical image control developed by Sharp automatically adapts screen brightness to the ambient lighting conditions.
Sound-wise, the automatic volume control keeps sound at the desired preset volume and the sets have two 10 watt loudspeaker systems, with built-in digital amplifier.
The 26-inch and 32-inch models are available in the UK from late March 2008 in black (LC-26D44 EBK RRP £499, LC-32D44 EBK RRP £599) and in silver-grey (LC-26D44 EGY RRP £499, LC-32D44 EGY RRP £599).
The 37-inch version (LC-37D44 EBK) will be on sale (black only) in the UK from July 2008. Pricing to be confirmed for this model.
