Two new FM transmitters for iPod

NEWS: 14 March 2008 11:26 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

Griffin Technology has launched two brand new additions to their range of FM transmitters, RoadTrip with SmartScan and the Tuneflex AUX.

Tuneflex AUX is designed for cars enabled with an auxiliary jack, while RoadTrip is the solution for those with cassette and radio only stereos.

The RoadTrip features a flexible stem that holds an iPod within easy reach, plugging into any auto power outlet or lighter adapter it has adjustable cradle to charge and hold any docking iPod - including the new iPod touch, iPod classic and the latest iPod nano 3G.

The RoadTrip uses Griffin's SmartScan technology, which automatically finds and saves the three best frequencies for sending the music from the user's iPod to the car's FM stereo system.

You can set the RoadTrip transmitter to broadcast music from the iPod to any FM frequency from 88.1 to 107.9, while its backlit screen shows which frequency.

The TuneFlex has a 3.5mm stereo mini cable that connects it to AUX-input-equipped stereos and allows you to play and charge your iPod as you drive.

Complete with a set of snap-on adapters to custom fit full-size iPod and iPod nano models, the TuneFlex is also aimed at multiple-iPod families.

The unit plugs into the 12V auto accessory port or cigarette lighter to charge and power the iPod, while TuneFlex's flexible steel neck adjusts for visibility of iPod screen and controls.

RoadTrip with SmartScan is priced at £59.99 and is available in Halfords. TuneFlex AUX is priced at £29.99 and is available in Curry's and Apple.
