Yahoo is going to head for the hills - moving its European HQ from London to Geneva.

The internet firm employs 700 staff in the UK, and the Financial Times reports that some were told by email yesterday that they have 30 days to make up their mind - follow the firm to Switzerland or find another job.

Yahoo expects to complete the head office move in 18 months.

In the meantime, its attempts to fend off Microsoft may finally have worn it out.

Online reports suggest that the two companies have started talks so a merger may be on the cards after all.
