Over in the States, Sideshow Collectibles are to offer what they are describing as the most authentic life-size reproductions of the famous Star Wars droids ever available to private collectors.

Available now for pre-order, the models will begin shipping in 3rd quarter of 2008 (so well in time for Christmas), with price on application for carriage outside of the US.

Both figures will include "light and sound functions", although exact details of what are yet to be revealed, and will come complete with display base.

Pricing for C-3PO comes in at a frankly whopping $5950 while R2-D2 (which, let's face it is the one you want anyway) will be a smidge cheaper at $5450.
