Recruiters are to take advantage of the massive impact Facebook has had worldwide.
Internet jobs site CareerBuilder.com is teaming up with Facebook so that its clients can run job recruiting campaigns within the online social networking site.
Recruiting ads will appear through Facebook promoting CareerBuilder and potential employers could also advertise jobs in a bid to reach people who do not usually respond to ads in traditional places, such as newspapers.
"CareerBuilder is spending a considerable amount of money to promote on the Facebook site and the Facebook network, and then we'll have the ability to resell certain units to continue that promotion for our clients", Richard Castellini, vice president of consumer marketing for CareerBuilder, told Reuters.
It is hoped advertising on Facebook will appeal to companies as they can target for specific jobs - for example - finding graduates with certain degrees.
But users' privacy will be respected promised both companies.
The deal will initially focus on the US market and the two companies are keeping quiet about how much money has changed hands.
