Blaupunkt says "simplicity is the key" to the new TravelPilot 100 GPS unit that offers no entertainment features or TMC but just "pure navigation".

The company says it delivers easy, intuitive operation, high–speed route calculation and accurate route guidance using visual and acoustic turning recommendations.

Described as "the answer for any motorist who wants a simple, straight forward, accurate and portable satellite navigation system", the unit will come complete with both UK and Ireland mapping pre-installed.

The TravelPilot 100 features simple driver assistance functions including optimal routing, speed limit warning, automatic day/night switch and error tolerant name input.

The new portable device is said to be easy to use, and comes with a clear and easy to read 3.5-inch display screen.

Availability and cost has not yet been revealed, but we would assume an entry-level price point.
