Some interesting European iPhone news is filtering though from various sources, the first of which being that French news source Les Echos is claiming Orange France are strongly considering a price cut for the device.

Two executive from France's iPhone operator-partner have apparently flown to California to ask Apple what it can do about stocks of unsold handsets, according to the reports.

It is suggested that Orange is considering subsidising the price of the phone, as O2 has done in the UK and T-Mobile has done in Germany.

Orange France has denied the rumour, saying: "There is no question of changing the economic model for the iPhone ... everything is going well".

The other news concerns Italy and the 3G version of the iPhone, with Italian newspaper La Repubblica claiming that the 3G iPhone is coming shortly to Telecom Italia without a revenue sharing deal and without long-term exclusivity.
