TomTom announces new ONE and XL range

Slimline new units you can slip in your pocket

NEWS: 29 April 2008 14:14 GMT by Chris Hall

TomTom has announced a complete from-scratch redesign of the TomTom ONE and XL models of their popular navigation devices.

The new devices are ultra-compact with an innovative EasyPort mount that stays on the device and folds virtually flat for easy stowing - in a pocket or handbag.

Both systems have been designed to be slimmer and feature an entirely new audio system to make navigation commands even clearer.

The TomTom ONE features a 3.5-inch touchscreen, while the XL is a 4.3-inch display.

The devices take their heritage from their predecessors with the claim of making them even more user-friendly, including Map Share technology so maps are always up to date, through the TomTom HOME offering.

Prices for the TomTom ONE are £149.99 for UK/Ireland maps, or £169.99 for 22 European maps; the TomTom ONE Traffic version will be £179.99 and £199.99 respectively.

TomTom XL will be £179.99 for UK/Ireland, or £199.99 for the 22 European countries. The TomTom XL Traffic will be £209.99 and £229.99 respectively.
