Find My Location for Microsoft Live Search goes live

Get me to the nearest pub and fast

NEWS: 30 April 2008 10:57 GMT by Katie Scott

A multitude of mobile users will now be able to pinpoint their exact location using their phone and Microsoft Live Search.

O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone customers who can access the world wide web from their phones can now use the new Find My Location service.

The tool is the latest addition to Microsoft's Live Search browser.

Visit msn.co.uk while you're out and about to access it, or text "MSN" to 63463 to get a link sent to your mobile phone.

Find My Location will then errr ... find your location and tell you what you need to know, for example, "where's the nearest tube station because I'm completely lost"; or "where's the nearest brolly shop because it's started to rain yet again and I thought it was summer".

Users can search for local businesses, maps, driving directions and their local weather forecast.

Microsoft adds that the service works directly from a mobile phone's web browser, so there is no need to download anything.
