iQuader microphone launched by TerraTec

Designed for pros and amateurs alike

NEWS: 7 May 2008 17:37 GMT by Katie Scott

A simple microphone capable of capturing "high-quality recordings" is the claim being made of the world’s first USB Stereo interfacial microphone.

The iQuader from TerraTec was developed in cooperation with Brauner Microphones.

As such, the device is claimed to be suitable for live recording, pod-casting, interviews, and VoIP, and is capable of professional level recordings as well as being easy to use for us normal folks.

It is built around a high-quality microphone preamp and an analogue limiter, which is said to prevent digital distortion.

And recordings are also claimed to be up to HD demands with 24-bit resolution and 96-kHz sampling frequency.

Users can simply plug iQuader into a free USB 2.0 port, adjust the input level, and start recording using their favourite audio software.

TerraTec claims no further drivers are needed.

Additional features worth a mention are the dedicated controls for the input signal and headphones output; signal level LED; and standby function.

The iQuader is available for £199.99.

Have Your Say
  • I'm planning to stay doing some podcasts on my website and am currently on the hunt for a podcast that isn't going to crackle and crack every time I speak.

From what I've seen the iQuader seems to live up to it's hype and might just find its way onto my desk soon!
