MSI Titan 700 small form factor PC launches

Small, cheap, green

NEWS: 8 May 2008 12:25 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

MSI, the company behind the forthcoming Eee-rival, the Wind, has launched a small form factor PC, new Titan 700, based on the Mini-ITX form factor, normally for business usage.

With a VIA CN700 + 8237R+ chipset, the Titan 700 system comes with a slim DVD burner, as well as 2.5-inch SATA hard drive that claims to effectively reduce the volume and improve the heat dissipation of the chassis.

The Titan 700 series is 3.1 litres in size, or 70 x 185 x 240mm for those whose brains don't work in volume measurements, and can be placed horizontally or vertically.

The Titan 700 is also equipped with Gigabit LAN, I/O ports, USB 2.0, SATA, PS/2 and 5.1-channel audio, providing users with "rich and complete multimedia support".

The MSI Titan 700 series has a 60W power supply module that is energy-efficient, cost-effective, environmental-friendly and quiet too.

With a retail price of £234.99, the Titan 700's specs are as follows:

- Processor: VIA C7 Series (V4 Bus) NanoBGA2, 2.0GHz
- Memory: 1GB DDR2
- Storage Interface: SATA 2.5in HDD (120G) and Slim Type ODD (DVD+/-RWDL, IDE)
- LAN: Gigabit LAN from Realtek
- Front I/O: 1 AC'97 Mic In, 1 Headphone Out, 2 USB2.0
- Rear I/O: 2 PS/2, 2 Serial Ports, 1 VGA, 1 Mic In, 1 Line Out (5.1Ch), 1 RJ45 LAN, 2 USB2.0, 1 TV Out
- Audio: 5.1 Channel AC'97 Audio
- Power Supply: 60Watt Adapter, Active PFC
- Dimensions: 70mm Height, 185mm Width, 240mm Depth, Volume - 3.1 Litre
- ... just add software!
