NEWS: 15 May 2008 9:43 GMT by Amy-Mae Elliott

LG Display has announced it has developed both small circular and elliptical LCD screens.

The company showed off a 1.4-inch circular LCD and a 6-inch elliptical that both display up to 262,000 colors and have a near 160 degree viewing angle.

LG Display says the new circular LCDs could be widely used in the future in mobile phones, watches and the like.

Toshiba recently showcased their take on the circular LCD with applications for their offering planned to be in the automotive industry.
