Traxdata has launched a multimedia hard disk drive, the MultiMediaDrive, a portable multimedia player that can be plugged into your television for instant playback of movies, songs or photos.

Files are transferred from PC via USB 2.0 connectivity, the drive can then be plugged into "any" audio and video interface, including HDMI, and controlled via the included remote.

With a 500GB storage capacity, users can create their own media library using Traxdata's MultiMediaDrive to watch movies, view holiday snaps, and play their favourite songs on their television instead of on a computer.

Traxdata's MultiMediaDrive plays MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DivX, Xvid, MP3, WAV and JPEG. It supports both FAT32 and NTFS file systems and has DivX subtitle support. USB 2.0, composite video and audio R/L, component video cables are all included.

As well as the multimedia features, the drive can also be used a bog-standard external hard disk drive and is on sale now for around £150.
