Verizon offering online video subscription service Signs contract with Starz Entertainment

Verizon internet users in the US of A can now subscribe for videos online.

The US ISP has signed a contract with Starz Entertainment to expand its video offering on the Internet.

For $5.99 a month, Verizon's current 8.5 million high speed internet service customers will be able to get access to video content just by logging on.

The new offering goes up against online movie services such as those offered by Vongo, Netflix and Amazon.com.

Starz, however, is expected to appeal more to younger audiences especially those who spend time watching movies on their laptops or transfer content to watch on the go to their PMP (although Starz Play movies downloaded from the service will not be viewable on the iPod.
