We promised to bring you more information on Panasonic’s new SA-BX500. The AV receiver is optimised for Blu-ray and wireless surround sound, featuring compatibility with all Blu-ray audio codecs, HDMI connectivity and the ability to deliver 7.1 channel virtual surround from 5-speaker systems.

The SA-BX500 boasts 7 x 130W power output and can decode all of Blu-ray’s multi-channel signals including Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD MA. And with three HDMI inputs, six AV inputs and Full HD 1080p video switching, the SA-BX500 can be used as the heart of your home entertainment system. Its version 1.3 HDMI socketry is compatible with the latest Deep Colour and x.v.Colour technology, assuming you have a compatible player, like Panasonic’s DMP-BD50.

The SA-BX500 supports Panasonic’s wireless speaker system, with the addition of the SH-FX67 wireless speakers. The receiver uses separate amps for high and low-frequency signals for the front speakers. Also, in a bi-amp, bi-wiring configuration, the SA-BX500 will automatically switch its internal circuits when it receives a 2-channel signal.

With Auto Lip Synchronisation the receiver is designed to slot in to a complete Panasonic system thanks to its Viera Link function. You can even buy an optional iPod dock.

Sadly we have no prices, but it will be available in July.
