BébéSounds Angelcare Movement Sensor

13 June 2008 12:39 GMT / By Katie Scott

BébéSounds Angelcare Movement Sensor is a new type of baby monitor.

As well as transmitting the baby's cries if it wakes up, this system also inludes a movement sensor mat, which goes in the crib.

A tic sound is transmitted every time your baby moves, and if there is no movement for 20 seconds, an alarm sounds.

The manufacturer says that the device is hoped to bring down the number of babies who die from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, which is a rare occurence that doctors simply don't understand the causes of.

If it gives parents more peace of mind, it's got to be a good thing.
