Apple and AT&T have settled a $360 million lawsuit over the iPhone's "visual voicemail" functionality, reports the AP.

The case was brought by a company called Klausner Technologies who had filed a patent lawsuit in December last year, claiming damages and future royalties.

But the three companies said in a joint filing this week in US District Court in Texas that they've resolved Apple's and AT&T's portion of a larger patent lawsuit Klausner filed and have asked for the case to be dismissed.

Judah Klausner revealed Apple and AT&T have agreed to take out licenses on the technology: "As an inventor, it's fulfilling, and it's important as a creative person to get that recognition — payment is also good, there's nothing wrong with that". Financial terms were not disclosed.
