• Ego Scooter beware! I was caught up in the hullabaloo about this little scooter and bought one. All I can say is be careful and prepare to have your patience tested. The whole purchase and registration process is very badly thought out, the bike is a little bit Fisher Price, as is the service. When I first bought the bike I got an automated email confirmation.. That’s it. Nothing else telling you what to do. I followed the details on the webpage and set about sorting out insurance and sending my drivers details to the company to get it registered. Would have been nice to have had a little "what happens next.." email with all the steps outlined clearly instead of having to call Firebox and trawl their website for info. Then 3 weeks later the bike arrives. No paperwork, no manual, no maintenance instructions. just the bike. Oh and most importantly NO REGISTRATION. They send you the bike and you have to KEEP IT FOR A WEEK BEFORE YOU CAN RIDE IT! Yes, the returns policy allows you 7 days to return it, but you cant ride it in this period as its not registered. So basically you have to look at it on the road or garage for a week and decide if you want it. Then a week later you get your registration and you can ride it. However, by the time you get to ride it - you can no longer return it. So beware of this. Also the anything on the bike that looks like metal.... its plastic. Drop this thing once and it'll fall to pieces. I'd tell you what it was like to drive... but I have to look at it for another week before I get that honour. Rubbish Posted by MF, UK
• i got one of the first ego scooter 12 months ago . ok its very "plastic" and the registration was tiresome but its been a godsend to me. only use my car when absolutly neccessary. and can go shopping without the wife. priceless.
  not sure about repairs etc in other areas but there are 2 places in stockport that do repairs/parts. would not be without mine!!! Posted by paul kelly, england
• I have had one of these scooters for around 3 months and can say that they really are excellent - they get you from A to B with no problems at all and at virtually Zero cost! - I have a dedicated blog about them if you would like to know more info.
