Apple says cut and paste not a priority
Not out of the question though...

Apple has said that "Cut and Paste" isn't a priority for the new iPhone.
In an interview with Apple product head Greg Joswiak website Appscout has asked why isn't there cut and paste feature in the new software update?
The answer, according to the website: "Apple has a priority list of features, and they got as far as they could down that list with this model. In other words, they don't have anything against cut and paste. They just judged other things to be more important".
The site also questioned Apple on the GPS module on board in the new model:
"The iPhone's GPS is just like the GPS in other phones, many of which do provide driving directions. Rather, there are some murky 'complicated issues' preventing driving directions apps at the moment. It will evolve. I think our developers will amaze us", he said.
Finally Apple suggested that due to "no cross-application file structure" we would be unlikely to see office applications any time soon.
Unfortunately Appscout didn't ask Apple about why email on the iPhone is lacking a search function allowing you to search through your email.

Not very OS X'ish is it?
What does "no cross-application file structure" mean. Is that 1984 talk for we want everyone to conform to our way of doing things.
I think this is true - I don't even have a touch screen phone and a basic cut and paste option is there.
It is a simple and useful thing to do and with all the things you can do with the iphone - cut and paste is something you would expect.
