Acer TravelMate 5730 launches Modestly-specced business offering

Acer has launched the TravelMate 5730, a professional notebook that gets the Intel Core 2 Duo processor with up to 2GB of dual channel DDRII memory on the Mobile Intel GM45 Express chipset.

Depending on the model, the TravelMate 5730 offers a choice of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 / HD 3650, Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS or Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD graphics card with full support for Microsoft DirectX.

The 5730 offers a 15.4-inch WXGA widescreen display, up to 320GB hard disk, a multi-in-one card reader and a Blu-ray or DVD-Super Multi optical drive.

Connectivity-wise there's WLAN (802.11a/g/n) supporting Acer SignalUp with Invilink Nplify wireless technology as well as Gigabit Ethernet LAN and modem connection. In addition, on 3G specific configuration, full WWAN connectivity is guaranteed through quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE capability at 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSPA capability at 2100MHz.

Also included is Acer Bio-Protection digital imprint reading solution, Acer FingerLaunch, and on some models, the TravelMate 5730 comes bundled with a VoIP Bluetooth phone and Acer Video Conference Manager Pack that, while all get the integrated Acer CristalEye camera.

To be offered with a choice of Vista systems, pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed.
