UK-based company Sonix7 is offering the Sonix7 Pro MP3/MP4 player - an iPod touch clone - that's on sale for £59.99, undercutting the Apple device by well over a hundred quid.

With the tag-line "everyone likes to be touched", the Sonix7 Pro MP4 player offers a 2.8-inch, 320 x 240 resolution TFT touchscreen display and boasts a 4GB internal flash memory that's expandable via Mini SD card.

As well as MP3 playback there's support for WAV and AVI support, and presumably MPEG4 too, although this is not listed in the specs.

There's also built-in speakers, an FM radio, voice recording and a built-in (unspecified spec) camera for stills and video, JPEG viewer, e-text reader, seven EQ settings and ID-3 tag support.

It appears the device is only Windows '98, XP or Vista compatible, and PC hook-up is via USB 2.0 for file transfer as well as for charging.

The player measures in at 54 x 92 x 15mm and the lithium battery is said to provide power for 7.5 hours of video or 12 to 15 hours of audio.

Bundled in with the £60 player is AVI video converter software, USB power adapter and headphones and it's on sale now direct from Sonix7.
