Epson has announced its new portable projector, DVD and music player combo, in the form of the Epson MovieMate 55.
Apparently as easy as "plug, load and play", the Epson MovieMate 55 combines a built-in progressive scan DVD/CD player and dual Dolby 5.1 8W speakers into one unit. Aim it at any blank wall or screen, and it projects the DVD movie loaded at up to eight times larger than it would appear on a 40-inch, widescreen TV. And by our calculations, that's pretty big.
The MovieMate 55 is also compatible with iPod, Nintendo Wii, Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 so you can play your games on a really big screen. The projector displays an 80-inch widescreen image from 7.8 feet away, or a whopping 120-inch image from 11 feet away.
There's no pricing details or release dates for the MovieMate 55 as yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we get them.
