Breaking away from Nike and its deal to create an active sports MP3 player brand, Philips has launched four new players in the UK to fill the void that has been left.

The range features two solid state players and for the first time, two hard disk players, all designed specifically to eliminate the effects of shock and vibration, keeping the music playing for the duration of your exercise.
With a focus on exercise, all the new players come with a sports armband which securely fastens to the body and all four also feature sports headphones and a built-in talking stopwatch so you can keep track of your progress.

Decked in a vibrant orange and red finish, the PSA235 and PSA245 solid state players are respectively equipped with 512MB (up to 250 tracks) and 1GB (up to 500 tracks) memory capacity, and a built-in mini SD memory card slot. The rechargeable battery offers 15 hours of playback.

Coming in a sleek blue and black finish, the 3GB PSA610 and 6GB PSA615 hard disk players offer space for 1,500 and 3,000 songs respectively. A rechargeable battery provides up to 12 hours of playtime.

The PSA235 will cost £99.00, the PSA245 £119.00, the PSA610 £139.00, and the PSA615 £179.00
