Vodafone Connect to Friends Facebook app launches New messaging service open to all UK mobile users

Vodafone has announced the trial of a "unique" service that enables all UK mobile users to send text messages from their Facebook profile to friends.

Vodafone Connect to Friends lets Facebook users send texts and picture messages without having to switch from PC to mobile by installing the "Vodafone Connect to Friends" application to their Facebook profile.

This will mean users can send messages to their online Facebook friends but also to non-Facebook users and groups and can be used by anyone on any UK mobile network.

Vodafone is offering 25 free text credits to those who subscribe with costs at 10p per text and 30p per picture message after that, credit can be bought online, or added to Vodafone contract customer's bills.

The pilot service will be extended later this month to also include picture messages. There's more info on Facebook and Vodafone's site too.
