Sales of the RealDVD DVD ripping software from RealPlayer have been legally suspended by a US judge.
A statement on the site for the software, that was launched as a "100% legal" movie archiving solution just days ago, reads:
"RealDVD is currently unavailable. Due to recent legal action taken by the Hollywood movie studios against us, RealDVD is temporarily unavailable. Rest assured, we will continue to work diligently to provide you with software that allows you to make a legal copy of your DVDs for your own use."
As well as legal action from Hollywood studios, the Motion Picture Association of America has accused the company of violating the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and breach of contract.
