Vodafone today announced the launch of the exclusive Sharp GX30, the latest addition to its range of Vodafone live! mobile phones and the first mega-pixel (1 million pixels) camera phone on sale in the UK. The new phone follows the Sharp GX10, GX10i and the GX20.

The Japanese manufactured, quad-band Sharp GX30 comes with a built-in CCD camera capable of taking one million-pixel high quality images three times the resolution of most European camera phones.

The phone is available to new customers on pay monthly price plans for between £100 and £200 and as an upgrade for existing customers. This exclusive Vodafone live! phone also features a large colour screen with over 260,000 colours - four times the quality of the GX20 - five different size stills settings, a 7x digital zoom option, a removable SD memory card for greater storage and easy transfer, as well as an MP3 player.

Like its predecessor, it has a macro setting for taking close-ups and a light is fitted alongside the lens to light up objects when taking photos in poor light.

Available in retail stores from mid March 2004, the Sharp GX30 comes with a number of accessories available for purchase including spare batteries, hands-free kits and fully fitted car kits.
