ASUS unviel range of new graphics cards

25 February 2004 15:44 GMT / By Stuart Miles

The new models: ASUS XN5950, XN5750, XN5750N, XN5300 and XN4300 graphics cards, are powered by Nvidia GeForce PCXGPU.

Featuring Nvidia's GeForce PCX GPU, the ASUS graphics cards have been designed to take full advantage of additional bandwidth and features that the new PCI express interconnection delivers, by using an innovative high-speed interconnect (HSI), a complex piece of networking technology, which performs seamless, bi-directional interconnect protocol conversion at incredible speed lines.

The new cards incorporate many state-of-the-art technologies such as NVIDIA® UltraShadow technology, NVIDIA® CineFX 2.0 engine, NVIDIA® Intellisample technology and a rich spectrum of unique ASUS innovations including ASUS' GameFace, HyperDrive and VideoSecurity.

ASUS GameFace brings users a whole new experience of online gaming. GameFace allows players to see the opponent's various facial expressions during the game as they outplay and outmanoeuvre them. GameFace also incorporates movement detection system via a web cam system.

GameFace also allows players to open up a window for TV viewing while players are still battling online. The system also offers a transparent option that, as the name suggests, makes the viewing window appear transparent.

VideoSecurityTM For Security Monitoring is a software program for users to build their own security monitoring systems. With this program, users can detect environmental changes, monitor a specific location or screen visitors and even watch video over the Internet. When unauthorized entries occur, the software takes a snapshot of the intruder and sends out a warning call to a specified account or executes a user-defined program.

While HyperdriveTM intelligently provides comprehensive and dynamic modes to protect graphic cards from over clocking damage and ensure safer operation
