Samsung launches UK’s first Dual Core notebook range

Samsung Electronics, has launched what it is claiming are the world’s first dual core notebooks, the Samsung X60 and R65

Samsung Electronics, has launched what it is claiming are the world's first dual core notebooks, the Samsung X60 and R65.

Featuring Intel's recently launched dual core processors, Samsung's X60 and R65
boast larger memory, hard disk drive and 15.4-inch widescreen displays and the promise of up to 5 hours 30 minutes off a single charge.

Samsung X60 notebook weighs 2.4kg and a 15.4 inch SuperClear display featuring Samsung's exclusive Digital Natural Image Enhancement (DNIE). It is also features the first notebook embedded PCI-Express Gigabit LAN solution, guaranteeing a stable network connection without the use of a PCI device. In addition to enhanced 802.11a.b.g wireless and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity.

Twin-array microphones to filter out unwanted ambient noises and ensure high quality sound, perfect for video chatting or internet phone calls and the Optional X dock, providing "single click" connection and easy access to a wide variety of ports including parallel, serial, USB ports and DVI.

The Samsung R65 notebook comes with a 15-inch SuperClear display featuring Samsung's exclusive Digital Natural Image Enhancement (DNIE), as well as built-in rear SRS 3D speakers.

The R65 features two PC card slots that use PCI Express cards or PCMCIA PC cards for increased storage flexibility and comes with built-in multiple ports, a card recognition machine and a supporting X-Dock connector.

Samsung has yet to set a price for the two models.
