Comment: Creative has today announced a small 1.5Gb MP3 player that is capable of storing up to 850 music files. Better still you can also use the device as an external hardrive connecting to a PC via a USB2.0 socket. This is obvious aimed at as a stop gap between the small 218Mb players and the six to 20Gb players found on the market. Carrying a £200 price point seems like the right price and will certainly play into those looking at some of the more expensive sony players.

Creative (Nasdaq: CREAF), the worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for the personal computer and the Internet, announces the launch of the new Creative MuVo2 personal digital audio player which will be available to buy from early October.
Built around a 1.5GB micro disk and with USB 2.0 connectivity for fast and easy downloads, the MuVo2 offers users a revolutionary solution for personal entertainment that combines great storage, superb MP3 and WMA audio playback, compact size (it measures just 66x66mm) and stylish design. It is also an excellent data transfer and sharing medium.
The Creative MuVo2 sets new standards for MP3 players. Inside its elegant, ultra-compact square case there's a micro-sized disk with a huge 1.5GB capacity - enough for 850* songs (that's 25 hours of 128kbps MP3 music) or a large library of documents, photos or presentations. High-speed file transfer is assured by the USB 2.0 interface, while the Creative MediaSource software makes audio conversion, archiving and management a simple and flexible proposition on the PC.
In use, the MuVo2 is quick and intuitive, belying the functionality on offer. A blue backlit LCD display and icon-based operating system keeps you updated on the progress of your favourite album, making navigation between tracks a breeze.

For example, it can store up to 25 hours of MP3 (50 in WMA) and comes with a 4-band equaliser and 4 equaliser presets. The rechargeable and removable lithium-ion battery provides up to 10 hours of continuous playback and it comes with a protective case with belt clip for 'play as you go' convenience.
