Guinness promise magic of the draught pint at home

Guinness has launched a new device that allows beer drinkers to supposedly create the magic of Guinness Draught at home.

According to the makers of the Black Stuff, as many as 10 million people in the UK drink Guinness, however hate the fact that we can't recreate the same effect in the pub at home.

In steps the new widget. The Guinness Surger works using ultra-sonic technology. At the touch of a button, the Surger sends an ultra-sonic pulse through the pint glass, releasing the gases in the Guinness beer, which then settles into the velvet pint with creamy head.

Guinness Draught Surger beer is made to exactly the same Guinness Draught recipe, but with a different gas mix. While the widget delivers the gases in regular canned Guinness Draught, the Surger works its magic to activate the gas within the beer.

Guinness Surger starter kits (Surger unit, 2 x 520ml cans and a pint glass) will be available from 27th February 2006 for £16.99 in select Tesco supermarkets across the country.
